Welcome to My Journey: From Mother to Homeschooling Advocate
Hello, my name is Angela, and I am a Homeschooling Mom. My family lives in beautiful Arizona, in the Tonto Basin National Forest. We live here because of my husband’s job, and love where we live. The only real downside is being so far away from town and “luxuries” that come with living closer to town.
The distance to town was a huge contributing factor in the decision to homeschool, but also knowing that the school my youngest would be attending is not that good of a school. After much research, I decided I was going to delve into the world of homeschooling, learn all I could, and give our youngest the best education I could.
Upon delving into the hows and whys of homeschool here in AZ, my head started to swim, and I was bombarded with so much information I had to literally take breaks just to absorb it all to any degree of usefulness. It is still a work in progress, as more information is always needed, and I am finding more on the topic each day.
Why AZ Homeschoolers? A Passion for Quality Education
With so much information out there in so many places, I decided to bring all I had learned, and continue to learn, together into one website. I hope that all my hard work can be used by anyone who hopes and wants to homeschool in Arizona.
Very likely much of this information will be useful to people who homeschool elsewhere, but please make sure you check with your local laws and regulations for the technical bits and to make sure you are doing what you need to for your family.

My dream would be to have a whole community of homeschoolers in AZ collaborate here on this site; sharing tips and tricks, things that worked or didn’t work, and finding support and resources to help them and their families on their homeschool journey. I know that Arizona is a unique state in that we have some pretty extreme weather, terrain and environments; and facing those challenges together we will be able to find ways to overcome them and work with them.
I want to invite you to join us on our journey as we learn and grow in our homeschooling life. As I find out more information on topics, find new ideas or projects, or really cool kits or curriculum, I will share and hope that you will be able to use my experiences and knowledge to help your family.
