This is a very important post about self care as a home school parent/teacher. I am not sure how my daughter does it with 4 children and planning lessons for 4 grades (12th, 10th, 8th, 6th). She also is the science teacher at their homeschool co-op in classical studies. Plus, she has a part-time job as medical transcriptionist. When you add in shopping for groceries and planning meals and cooking, you have the recipe for a breakdown.
She seems to have done very well, although there are times when she can get stressed. I’m not sure what she does for self care. I know that one thing she does is donate plasma. This is over 2 hours of her day when no one expects anything from her when she can just think more about the week.

I always said that if I have children, I’ll homeschool them. But honestly I realize now that it’s a huge work and if you’re not prepared you can be overwhelmed very quickly. Fortunately, you have many digital resources now and they are a great help to help you in your homeschooling endeavors.
